The UNESCO Executive Board has begun is meeting and will soon elect its candidate for to serve as Director General for the next four years. The Executive Board will meet in private on the morning of Wednesday 2 October to conduct interviews with the candidates. Three days have been scheduled for the nomination process — 4, 7 and 8 October. The recommended candidate will then be considered by the UNESCO General Conference, which runs from 5 – 20 November.
