Welcome to Global Memo, a new blog from the publisher of UNSG.org.
As with its predecessor, Global Memo will offer a comprehensive source of information on the processes for choosing senior multilateral officials. The focus will be primarily on those posts to be filled in upcoming months, the candidates under consideration, and those bodies responsible for the formal appointments.
Most of the information will be gathered from media reports, government statements, think tanks and civil society groups. In addition to general news, readers can expect in-depth examination of possible preferences buried in officials’ remarks as well as the occasional rumor shared by a reliable, if off-the-record, source.
